The purpose of this website is your Happiness. With that in mind, I am sharing with you some of my inspiring, uplifting, and motivating thoughts and ideas in a variety of topics, as well as Meditation and Life Guidance based on the Teachings of Great Ones.

Life

We all need help from time to time to deal with Life and its ups and downs, excitement from achievements and depression from disappointments. Some of us also have the intense desire to find true Happiness, or search within ourselves to find lasting Peacefulness.

Life usually seems to go on just fine without big problems. People indulge in activities according to their ages and inclinations. However, there comes a time when everyone of us encounters ordeals in life that range from difficult and painful to terrible and horrific. We are not able to handle them. 

Feeling down at times is natural. But staying down is not. Time heals everything. There are always ways to lift ourselves from unhappiness or dejection, let down or rejection. A few kind words, a little support and encouragement, a small amount of wisdom resulting from the experiences of those who have already gone through all this, and teachings of Great Ones who themselves abided in peace! This will do the trick. So, cheer up! Stay positive! Everything can be made right in due course.

Meditation

Sometimes people say wise things, and sometimes we can get some wisdom and help from them. When we don’t or cannot get adequate help from human beings, we seek the help of a Higher Power. And such help sometimes comes in the form of Books or Scriptures and sometimes in the form of Great Beings. They teach us how to deal with day to day problems, how to be calm in turbulent situations, how to be equanimous is success and failure, how to endure illnesses and how to deal with losses of dear ones. So Satsang or “Association with the Wise” is the best way to lead an effective and fulfilling life.

We can always learn from the wisdom of others, but Lasting Inner Happiness and Peacefulness can only be obtained by the Association of Sages who experienced It and abide in It. Because, they are not ordinary people who are wise. They are personifications of the real, perfect, eternal Being-Consciousness-Bliss, who graciously appear from time to time to guide us back to such a peaceful state. Their words offer teachings and guidance to Life and Meditation to those who seek them. When we contact them mentally, they have the power to transmit their Peace and Happiness to us, or in other words, Peace transfers to us.

We want to be Happy. When we don’t have happiness or unable to find it in the world, we seek help. We find that misery is due to unwanted thoughts. We don’t know how to, or we are not able to, get rid of those disturbing, scorching thoughts. Meditation gradually helps us to get rid of these thoughts and become calm and happy. It is as simple as that. We usually look for answers to our problems outside in the world. Meditation teaches us to find the answers within ourselves. Isn’t that great!

However, a building needs a solid foundation, otherwise it will soon collapse. In the same way, the techniques and methods of Meditation are most effective only if they originate from Sages who are themselves peaceful and so are qualified to teach others. Otherwise, it will end up being a fad, and soon we will lose interest in it and drop it.

 What does Meditation do for us

In the everyday, worldly, practical sense, Meditation enables us to deal with our problems effectively, unclutters our mind and see things in the right perspective. It helps us to do our job or duty well. It facilitates focus and clarity of mind. It promotes good physical and mental health. It generates Love, Kindness, Forgivingness to ourselves and to others. In modern terms, it helps us “Be Cool”!

In a higher spiritual sense, Meditation is the means to retrace our steps back to our Real Nature which is Being-Consciousness-Bliss. It is knowing our Real Self, sometimes called Self-Realization.

There are no restrictions such as age, religion, gender, time, place, posture, outfit etc. for learning and practicing meditation. What restrictions are there to learn about being happy in life? Same thing. In fact, Happiness is our real nature, right now and always. That is why we long for it. Meditation is the means for refreshing or regaining it.

Meditation is Life

There is no difference between Meditation and Life. Living with God in Mind is Meditation. Meditating while performing one’s duty is Life. Therefore, Meditation is Life.

These two quotes by Sri Ramana Maharshi, elucidate further.

“M.: Meditation is your true nature now. You call it meditation, because there are other thoughts distracting you. When these thoughts are dispelled, you remain alone, i.e., in the state of meditation free from thoughts; and that is your real nature which you are now attempting to gain by keeping away other thoughts. Such keeping away of other thoughts is now called meditation. When the practice becomes firm, the real nature shows itself as the true meditation.

D.: What is the exact difference between worldly activity and dhyana (meditation)?
M.: There is no difference. It is like naming one and the same thing by two different words in two different languages.”
